The Priceless Childhood

Blooming like petals of young flowers

Captivating the passers-by with their buoyant smiles

Were playing a bunch of innocent kids

Unaware of the goings-on of the onlookers’ life.

He kept gazing at the vibrant souls

Recollecting memories of the good old days

When there were no worries of the future

And no fear of lagging behind in the rat race.

When his eyes were sore with shedding tears

And ceaseless was the burn

His heart wished for nothing

But for his blissful childhood days to return

When there were no ties and laws to chain his soul

And he was free as a bird to fly far and high

There was no fear of the unknown

And for him limit was the sky.

Captivated by his relentless ache

Mindlessly he walked on,

Shattered by the pang of truth

That his priceless childhood was never to return !

About SK Rajeshwari

I am an incurable bibliophile, dreamer, writer, poet and connoisseur of all things beautiful. This blog 'My Cosmos' is my first love and nothing pleases me more than constructive feedback for my write-ups. My second love is books. I am an insatiable and roly-poly bookworm. Books teach me how to explore the world inside me and the ones that are outcomes of someone else's unadulterated imagination. What beautifies my existence is the endless walk I enjoy putting on those shoes of imagination. Step into my world, feel my poems and allow your wandering soul to be hypnotized by the fragrance of the captivating manifestations of my dreams, experiences and imagination. Allow this feeling to creep into your being and let your nerves speak the language of beauty and artistry. Bienvenido :)
